Club News 6/7/10

NEXT WEEK - NO MEETING ON MONDAY - the Thank You Dinner to be held at the First United Presbyterian Church basement Tuesday, June 15th at 6:30 o'clock P.M.

On Saturday, June 19th (day before Father's day) our Rotary Club is sponsoring a Pasta Dinner as a fundraiser for the Relay For Life and all proceeds will go to the East Palestine Roadrunners Relay For Life. The dinner runs from noon until 6:00 o'clock P.M. and will be held in the basement of the First United Presbyterian Church. Tickets are $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

The Monday lunch meeting on June 21st is cancelled. We will have the Year-End Family Picnic that night at the Park at 6:30 o'clock P.M. at the end pavilions at the City Park (covered pavilions closest to the Community Center). If your last name is A through M please bring a covered dish. If your last name is N through Z please bring a dessert.

Kerri was our speaker today. She gave us an update on upcoming Chamber events:
- July 1st - bus trip to the Meadows - call 330-426-2376 to make reservations
- July 4th - all day events in the Park
- The new Chamber office will be completed by July 4th
- Farmers market every Thursday beginning in July; 3-8 PM; Methodist Church parking lot
- August 7th - National Night Out
- August Concerts in the Park on Friday nights
- Sale of 36' concrete pots for downtown - $1,000

JOKE OF THE WEEK

A 5-year-old boy went to visit his grandmother one day. Playing with his toys in her bedroom while grandma was dusting, he looked up and said, 'Grandma, how come you don't have a boyfriend now that Grandpa went to heaven?'

Grandma replied, 'Honey, my TV is my boyfriend. I can sit in my bedroom and watch it all day long. The religious programs make me feel good and the comedies make me laugh. I'm happy with my TV as my boyfriend.'

Grandma turned on the TV, and the reception was terrible. She started adjusting the knobs, trying to get the picture in focus.
Frustrated, she started hitting the backside of the TV hoping to fix the problem.

The little boy heard the doorbell ring , so he hurried to open the door and there stood Grandma's minister. The minister said, 'Hello son, is your Grandma home?'

The little boy replied, 'Yeah, she's in the bedroom

bangin' her boyfriend.'

The minister fainted.
