JOKE OF THE WEEK
A lawyer and a senior citizen are sitting next to each other on a long flight.

The lawyer is thinking that seniors are so dumb that he could get one over
on them easy.

So the lawyer asks if the senior would like to play a fun game.
The senior is tired and just wants to take a nap, so he politely declines
and tries to catch a few winks.

The lawyer persists, saying that the game is a lot of fun.  I ask you a
question, and if you don't know the answer, you pay me only $5.  Then you
ask me one, and if I don't know the answer, I will pay you $500, he says.

This catches the senior's attention and, to keep the lawyer quiet, he agrees
to play the game.

The lawyer asks the first question.  'What's the distance from the Earth to
the Moon?'

The senior doesn't say a word, but reaches into his pocket, pulls out a
five-dollar bill, and hands it to the lawyer.

Now it's the senior's turn.  He asks the lawyer, 'What goes up a hill with
three legs, and comes down with four?' And falls asleep, again

The lawyer uses his laptop and searches all references he can find on the Net.

He sends e-mails to all the smart friends he knows; all to no avail.  After
an hour of searching, he finally gives up.

He wakes the senior and hands him $500.  The senior pockets the $500 and
goes right back to sleep.

The lawyer is going nuts not knowing the answer.  He again wakes the senior
up and asks, 'Well, so what goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with
four?'

The senior reaches into his pocket, hands the lawyer $5, and goes back to sleep.

Kerri advised that she was just contacted by Tom Brittain of Brittain Motors this date with the following offer with regarding to our youth soccer.  Chevrolet is a huge supporter of soccer and they want to donate 2,000 tickets to be sold for $5.00 each for a chance to win a Chevy Equanoz or Malibu or a home entertainment system.  This covers five (5) states but one (1) entertainment system will be given locally.  Our Club received 100% of the funds from the sale of the tickets.  In addition a $500.00 cash donation will be received from Mr. Brittain for the soccer program and Chevrolet will also be donating 10 bags, 10 balls, 100 cones, 100 vests, and 150 t-shirts.  The tickets must be sold by November 1, 2010.  A motion to accept this offer was made by Traci Thompson, seconded by Shirley Prater and unanimously carried.

Secretary, Bonnie Davis, advised the Board that she had two (2) invoices for dues to be given to the Club Treasurer.  One is for Rotary International Semi-Annual Dues which are $25.00 per member, Council on Legislation Levy which is $1.00 per member, Liability Insurance which is $2.06 per member, and Rotarian subscription which is $6.00 per member.  The other is for the annual District 6650 Dues which are $30.00 per member ($26.50 for District Administration, $2.00 for District Youth Exchange, $.60 for District Group Study Exchange and $.60 for District Interact).

Shirley Prater noted that last Monday’s attendance was poor.  The District Governor visited our Club that Monday and we historically have tried to have 100% attendance.

A motion to adjourn was made by Traci Thompson, seconded by Endia Wisser and unanimously approved.
