helped with the Easter Egg Hunt, and especially Bonnie for
all her hard work coordinating the event. We distributed
5,135 pieces of candy, small trinkets, toys & gift cards to
many happy children. |

Happy/Sad
Bucks: Lisa was happy to be back at Rotary; Shirley is happy
that tax season is almost over; Vicki is happy for a good exchange
student trip to New York; Brad is happy for the Buckeye and Lady
Volunteers basketball teams; Jack was happy for being a member of
the finest little Rotary Club in all the world (Malvern); Sandy
was happy for the great turnout at the meeting.

The
GSE team from Italy will be at East Palestine High School on April
30th
-
Please sell your tickets for the Atlantic City Trip. Each Rotarian is asked
to sell or buy 25 tickets. All proceeds will be donated to
the Rotary Foundation. Money from
ticket sales should be given to Roger or Bob.

May
12th will be DOG Day

The Cancer Relay for Life in
2007 will be on June 15-16 in Salem.

The
District Conference will me held at the Holiday Inn Metroplex in
Girard on April 27-29.

The
Rotary International convention will begin on June 17 in Salt Lake
City, Utah.

Secret Service
A friend was in front of me coming out
of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he
always is to shake hands. He grabbed my friend by the hand and
pulled him aside. The Pastor said, "You need to join the Army
of the Lord!"
My friend said, "I'm already in the
Army of the Lord, Pastor."
Pastor questioned, "How come I
don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?"
He whispered back, "I'm in the
secret service!"

Past District Governor Meana Patel
announced that the District 6650 Nominating Committee had
selected our own Doug Simpson as the District Governor Elect
for the year 2009-2010. This is a great honor for Doug,
Vicki and our entire Club.....
and NO this is not an April Fools
prank.

Many Past District
Governors were on hand to congratulate Doug, and to show their
support for Doug, and our Club. East Palestine will be the
host Club of the District Conference in 2009-2010. We will
also host the House of Friendship at the 2008-2009 District
Conference.
