PROGRAM

Doug had the program today and he spoke about his amazing adventure at Sandusky for his Governor's training and Zone Meeting.  Doug said this past week gave him a new appreciation for Rotary.  He passed around the books and literature he received at the meeting.  He said they worked 10 hours per day.  He learned of some easy fundraisers, i.e.  getting Interact Club to get people to put change in a container outside of an event (no cost and Interact gets involved with this).  Membership:  need new members and need to retain the members we have.  Focus on keeping members, diversity and having good programs.  Mentoring - each club should have a mentor to assist in new members.  He said "get you ask in gear".  He got to know two (2) people from Evanston, Illinois, which he plans on using in the future.  RI is introducing a new pilot program - 100 Club Pilot Program which he didn't like because RI would tell us how to spend our money - District funds would go to major projects. There is a PR Grant available for billboards, radio, television, etc.  Doug said he was very inspired from all of this and he thanked our Club for our support and help.
